Imran Khan belongs to the famous lineage of the Sikar gharana (school ofmusic) that has given many stalwarts to Indian classical music. He was born on 4th June 1983, at Jodhpur. He is the ninth generation of gharana. He started his training in Sitar from the age of 6-7 years under his grandfather Ustad Gulab Khan Sahab , who is both acknowledged Sarangi player and vocalist of his time , and from his father Ustad Niyaz Ahmed Khan Sahab , who is also famous Sitar Player and ‘A’ grade staff artist at ALL INDIA Radio jodhpur in Rajasthan .

He has also taken training from his uncles, world famous Sarangi player & vocalist Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab who was part of Beatles George Harrison and Pandit Ravi Shankar’s group “Dark Horse” and Ustad Nasir Khan Sahab who is also a Sitar Player.

He gave his first solo performance at the age of 12 in youth festival of All India Radio, and since then he has been taking his music to concerts and festivals all over India and abroad. He has given his performance in countries like Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos and more.

He got first position in the competition organized by Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy and got scholarship for two years. He has been fortunate to share stage with his uncle Late Ustad Sultan Khan and he toured with him for 22 concerts in different cities of India.
Imran Khan was honored to perform with artists like the great vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan,  legendary Kathak Dancer Pt. Birju Maharaj, the versatile singer Shanker Mahadevan, Gazal Maestro Talat Aziz and other artists like Salim-Sulaiman, Karsh Kale, Richa Sharma, Madhushree Bhattacharya and International artists like Mr.Woodnote, Bernard Margarit, Henning Petriet and Eva Lazarus and others. He was part of Mtv Coke Studio series in India, collaborated with Bollywood famous singer Shaan.

Beside an classical music artist his equally into light music he played for films like Mr.Hot& Mr. Cool, Utsav  and played for ZubinGarg’s( ya ali fame)  album.
He has done some albums of fusion and pop music.  He is also a good composer have several albums to his credit. He have worked for his Uncle Late Ustad Sultan Khan Sahab’s last album “The Legacy” and His album “KhwajaSaheeb” is been released from music label T-series which is India’s one of the top music label and sung by some of India’s famous singer, name Rekha Bhardwaj, Krishna, ParthivGohil,Kalpana, Ali Abbas and others. He has a promising future in the music industry which will make him the beacon of the younger generation. He has been recognized as one of the sitar maestros and composer of the younger generation.

In Austria, Imran Khan will be accompanied by Haider Khan on the Tabla.
Haider Khan is a professional Tabla player from Rajasthan. He has studied the Indian percussion instrument since his early childhood, his Tabla gurus were Ustaad Hidayat Khan Shaab and Ustad Saraj Khan Shaab.
Haider Khan studied Tabla at Rajasthan Sangeet Kala Sansthan Music School in Jaipur and later on at Rajasthan University where he mastered Tabla as well as the subject for directing music.

Finalist with “Dunes of Rajasthan” in Casting Show “India’s Got Talent 3″.
He performed with ensembles and musicians like Rajasthan Roots, Pandit Cheranji Lal, Pandit Hanuman Sahy, Anoop Jaluta, Daler Mehndi, Mahandi Hasan and many more.
In Austria he is conquering the music scene, together with his brother Pintoo Khan, who is a master on traditional Rajasthani instruments Khartal and Morchang.
Both of them impress not only with their excellent skills and facets in the field of Indian classical music and vivid Rajasthani Folk, but also enrich Fusion and Jazz-projects, like the Indian Jazz outfit “Lila”.
