Grammy-nominee Amjad Ali Khan is one of the living legends of Indian Raga music and the world’s most famous virtuoso on the Sarod, an instrument which has its origin in the Afghanian Rubab and was developed in the 19th century.
Amjad Ali Khans breath-taking mastery on the Sarod is unchallenged, so much so that his name and the name of his instrument have become synonymous - He is the sixth generation of Sarod-musicians in his family, both his sons are also renowned Sarod musicians and his father was the leading court musician of the King of Gwalior.

Amjad Ali Khan will be accompanied by Tanmoy Bose from Kalkutta on the Tabla.

Listening Sample - Masters together – Amjad Ali Khan & Zakir Hussain
