DEC 09, 2011 | TAGORE – THE INFINITE MAN

On the occasion of the celebration of the 150th Birth Year of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore we cordially invite you to THE INFINITE MAN – A performance of music and poetry in 3 languages – English, German & Bengali.

Rabindranath Tagore was a poet, playwright, novelist, philosopher, educationalist, songwriter and artist.

He created his own system of music, Rabindra Sangeet and composed some 2,230 songs of Rabindra Sangeet.
These songs are regarded as cultural treasures of Bengal in both West Bengal (India) and Bangladesh. Their influence on the Bengali culture is said to be comparable to, perhaps even greater than, that which Shakespeare has on the English-speaking world.

The performance THE INFINITE MAN is one of the rare chances to hear Rabindranath Tagore‘s original songs to be performed live in Bengali language.
Apart from that Tagore’s poetry will be also recited in English and German language.

“Thy world is weaving words in my mind and thy joy
is adding music to them”
